Subject: Nowhere else in the Alps apart from Gesause are rock, forest and river arranged in such a steep vertical alignment. 150 years ago the monks of the Benedictine monastery reached the summits. Using materials collected by them the film tells the story of the Roaring mountains from a time when few dared to enter there to the present moment.
