Subject: At the beginning of the 2004 climbing season, only 196 climbers had reached the top of K2, only five of them were women, and each of those women died. Women of K2 examines the dark and dramatic history of the so-called “Savage Mountain” through the lives and deaths of its first female pioneers. The film also asks many controversial questions regarding women in the still very male world of climbing.
