Subject: Mustang, known as the desert kingdom of the Himalayas, straddles the frontiers of Tibet and Nepal. The route that we were going to follow, between Jomson and Lo Manthang, an old silk route, was the same as that followed by the Dalai Lama from Tibet on his way to political asylum in India.
