Subject: In 2001, Chamonix resident, Jean Christophe Lafaille, one of the world’s greatest climbers pioneered a new route on the legendary mile high West face of the Petit Dru. Historically the Dru has played an important role in the evolution of mountaineering. This route required many attempts before it could be completed. On his return to the valley people were soon calling it the hardest big wall in the Alps.
