Subject: In 1954 Antonio Marcos, Laércio, Patrick, Ricardo and Tadeusz made the first ascent of “Chimney Gallotti”, the 4th route to the summit of the famous Sugar Loaf, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Tartari and Poyares, Brazilians famous climbers, climbed the route using a completely different technique than the one used on the first ascent. “The Gallotti Turns 50” is a dive through the many stories of the attempts to climb the mountain and its importance among climbers until today. Most off all it sets an example of a long lasting mountain friendship based on companionship and trust.
