Subject: Volcanic explosion in mountains Pele, the volcano on the island Martinic on the 8th of May 1902 claimed lifes of 28 000 people. Film recreates the events of the last 5 days before the disaster in St. Pierr guided by historical documents. Volcanologist Jaque-Mari Bardintzeff describes different activity phases of mountains Pele. During the explosions destructive flows fall down the mountain at a speed of one hundred kilometres per hour.
