Subject: Video scetches made in Kalmyk steppe during the camelcade along the Great Way together with Fedor Konukhov. The authors of the film made an attempt to show the amazing world of the Kalmik steppe. This world consists of the nature of the Kaspian lowland, steppe, semi-deserts or the barkhans, salt lakes and vast storage reservoirs of Kuma-Manichskaya hollow. It cosists of people who live there, most of them are Kalmiks, they are the descendants of the nomands who came to this land from Mongolia in the 16th century. They brought their festive ceremonies, folk songs and dancing, unknown for Europe religion – Buddhism. This world consists of history, as this region has always been the crossroads of peoples and civilizations. It consists of interesting and varied fauna: camels and kalmik horses.
